Our School Community

Half Moon Bay Public School is nestled beside the Jock River in the Half Moon Bay community in Barrhaven. We are a growing school with a wonderful team of caring and committed staff.  We are proud of our partnership with our community and strive for ways to connect our students to the Half Moon Bay community and beyond.

Here is a sneak preview of our school

At Half Moon Bay Public School, we offer a two-year bilingual Kindergarten program where students have an English teacher, a French teacher and two Early Childhood Educators.

In grades 1-6, our school offers two programs. We offer the English program and Early French Immersion. Our English Programs offer all subjects in English with 40 minutes of core French daily. The Early French Immersion Programs offer all subjects taught in French except  for Math and English in Grade 2-6. In grade 1, math is the only subject taught in English every day for 60 minutes.

A strong commitment to Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility is embedded throughout the OCDSB 2023-2027 Strategic Plan and captured within each area of focus: learning, well-being, and social responsibility. We strive to ensure that our school is a welcoming and safe place for students of all identities to feel valued and respected as they engage, learn, grow, explore, and discover.
